Stroke

A stroke takes place when the blood circulation to part of the brain is blocked or when a blood vessel in the brain explodes, reason damage to a part of the brain. A stroke is also occasionally called a brain attack.

Stroke is the third most important reason of death in the United States. Along with survivors, stroke can cause major disability including paralysis in addition to speech and emotional problems. Most recent treatments are available that can decrease the damage caused by a stroke for a few victims. Although these treatments must to be given soon after the symptoms start.

Treatment may include the subsequent:

Physical therapy to facilitate restores movement, balance, and coordination.

Occupational therapy to facilitate the patient relearn everyday activities such as eating, drinking, dressing, bathing, cooking, reading and writing.

Speech therapy to facilitate stroke patients relearns language and speaking skills, including swallowing, or learns other forms of communication.

Psychological or psychiatric facilitate after a stroke. Psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, frustration, and anger, can be common after a stroke.
