Foodborne sickness

Foodborne sicknesses are caused by eating food or drinking beverages infected with bacteria, parasites, or viruses. Harmful chemicals can also cause foodborne sickness if they have infected food at some stage in harvesting or processing.

What are the indications of foodborne sickness?

In the majority cases of foodborne sickness, symptoms look like intestinal flu and may last a few hours or even several days. Indication can range from mild to serious and comprise

* Abdominal cramps

* Nausea

* vomiting

* Diarrhea, which is on occasion bloody

* Fever

* Dehydration
